Madison Resorts

OVERVIEW

More than a hotel management company, Madison Resorts is built by operators and marketers with decades of experience working and owning properties in the hospitality industry. Their team is made up of individuals with their own entrepreneurial drive and creative mindset. Upon entering a Madison Resorts property guests can expect a consistently elevated level of hospitality, decor and ambiance paired with a fun and interactive atmosphere. They aim to create memorable experiences and relationships that will last a lifetime.

As a start up Madison Resorts looked to Small Talk to step into a leadership role. This is a situation where the client wanted to build out their own marketing team under the oversight of a seasoned hospitality marketing professional. Our team stepped in as they acquired the Montreal Beach Resort and Harry’s Ocean Bar and Grille, both on the same property in Cape May, NJ. We setup an organized marketing structure with project management software and cloud based file sharing. Our graphics team created new logos and branding guides, new ads for both properties and the brand and all other creative aspects of the business. We’ve also given both properties a major upgrade to their online presence through social media strategy, email marketing, SEO and a robust online advertising campaign. This has resulted in an immediate increase in baseline revenue and a solid foundation that can be built upon for years to come.

Flight On Ice

OVERVIEW

The northeast region’s premier outdoor ice skating brand. Flight on Ice focuses on more than just ice skating, incorporating a full family fun atmosphere with heated tents, food and beverage, great entertainment and more.

Coming into work with Flight On Ice for their second year in business, this start-up company needed more than just Facebook posts. Our team stepped in to provide creative design services by creating the logo, building the website and providing all marketing materials including; pitch decks, sponsorship decks, business cards, flyers, posters and menus. We aided in building out foundational items like; project management software, Google work space and Grasshopper phone systems. We deployed and fully managed the ticketing box office which included a contract with a very new and unique ticketing partner. We full managed all of the social media, email marketing, websites, search engine optimization and all other marketing assets. We provided endless news stories by managing a local PR agency that sourced multiple media outlets and influencers.

Gran Caffe L’Aquila

OVERVIEW

Our first meeting with Gran Caffe L’Aquila came after they’d already been open for a year. Most businesses build their marketing plan months before they open, Gran Caffe however had an interesting problem that prevented them from hitting the ground running… A scaffolding covering their entire building, top to bottom. Their location is in Philadelphia’s busiest center city neighborhood, they were however invisible.

If you know anything about restaurants it’s that their first year in business is what makes or breaks them. You have a huge Grand Opening, all of the journalists rate and rave about your food and service, you find out who your good staff is, you refine your recipes and build a loyal base of customers that sustains the restaurant for hopefully a decade.

Gran Caffe owner Riccardo Longo didn’t have the ability to take advantage of all the perks of being a new restaurant, he was tossed into a burning building and forced to fight his way out. Battered and bruised Gran Caffe made it through their first year of business and eventually the scaffolding came down.

With a restored vigor Riccardo started bringing in marketers, public relations agencies, magazines, radio stations, trend setters and anyone one else that he thought could finally start to build his brand. Through this process we were introduced to Riccardo and began working on a proposal to finally launch the Gran Caffe L’Aquila brand. After a few meetings we were signed and ready to hit the ground running.

We started our contract with social media marketing, email marketing and light graphic design which eventually springboarded into the question that we get all the time, “what else can you guys do?”  When answering that question for client’s I like to focus on one thing, giving them ideas that will make them money. New food photos, videos, a new website and eventually the addition of our first ever E-commerce website selling their Italian goods.

What makes this client so unique is that Riccardo is constantly pressuring us to come up with new ways to build his brand using online initiatives. Their e-commerce website, hosted by shopify, has some amazing features including monthly coffee and olive oil subscriptions. Building this wasn’t an easy task, it took months to figure out shipping, pricing and creating a system that worked right for them.

Now in our 7th year working with Gran Caffe our initiatives have boosted their sales far beyond original projections, we’ve helped them build out new brands and continue to push the envelope opening their eyes to all new marketing tactics that can continue to help their companies grow.

Cavanaugh’s Restaurant Group

OVERVIEW

Cavanaugh’s is our longest standing client. Before Small Talk Media and long before Table Talk was a 23 year old guy in an apartment working sales jobs during the day and building a digital marketing company at night… that guy is me (Rob Wright, Owner Table Talk.) I can remember visiting Cavanaugh’s Riverdeck in my 20’s. In Philadelphia, The Riverdeck is almost a rite of passage. It brings in thousands of young people each weekend to dance, drink and hang out.

As the owner’s of the Riverdeck continued their growth they were looking for new more consistent revenue streams, enter Cavanaugh’s Rittenhouse. A laid back sports bar in center city Philadelphia. Now with two locations under their belts they started looking for another location, this is where Table Talk came in. Upon finding their Cavanaugh’s Headhouse location they were looking for “promoters” to help them open with a bang. Having amassed a large group of friends in the Philadelphia area and wanting to launch my fledgling digital marketing agency I decided to pitch the owners on letting me throw a party. They let me throw the party and guess what, it flopped.

Even Though that individual party wasn’t as advertised I still felt that I could help this new location grow, not by acting as a party promoter but by helping them in every area of their marketing. They signed on as one of my very first clients and I quickly went to work. I created their website, helped with the menu, managed all of their social media, helped them build out a new private party booking system and so much more. After a few months it was Riverdeck season. They called me in to see what I could help with there. We rebuilt the website, turned the private party and guestlist system completely digital, developed email marketing, started social media pages, took over graphic design and developed promotions.

Now almost 10 years later the team at Cavanaugh’s still has 6 locations throughout Philadelphia. We’re still their trusted marketing arm offering constant ideas to help build their reputation and drive sales.
